ABOUT ME
Nathan Etes is an alternative artist, producer, and songwriter creating emotionally immersive music that blends cinematic production with raw vulnerability. Drawing inspiration from artists like Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey, his sound exists between haunting atmosphere, distorted emotion, and intimate storytelling.
Originally from Wisconsin, Nathan began producing music at a young age after becoming fascinated by how Billie Eilishand her brother created her debut album from a bedroom studio, following the release of Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry. What started as curiosity quickly became obsession, leading to countless nights spent studying song structure, experimenting with vocal manipulation, sound design, production, and mixing techniques to create sonic worlds that felt both dark and beautiful.
Over the years, Nathan taught himself how to produce, record, mix, and master his music independently from his bedroom studio. As his sound evolved, so did his approach to gear and production, building a setup centered around industry-standard tools including Universal Audio and Focusrite interfaces, Neumann and AKG microphones, Fender and Epiphone guitars, and analog synthesizers.
In addition to writing and producing his own music, Nathan independently engineers and develops the creative direction behind his projects, shaping both the sonic and visual identity of his artistry. His approach to music is deeply intentional — treating every song as an atmosphere, memory, or emotional scene rather than simply a track.
Nathan has further developed his engineering and production knowledge through courses at Berklee College of Music and University of California, Los Angeles, while also learning through mentorship and collaboration with creatives in Los Angeles. Producing since 2020, he continues to refine a sound rooted in emotion, texture, and immersive detail.
Currently, Nathan is continuing to develop his catalog, visual world, and creative direction while preparing for the next stage of his career in Los Angeles.
